Mary Fong Walker hosts a “birthday” party to honor Rock Currier and his legacy before the auction on Monday. One of the signature specimens in the rock currier auction was the “skunk” amethyst plate. This juicy bit from Tiger Arizona went for a final bid of 80,000. Throw in buyer premium and you have a cool six figure specimen. This excellent and large Azurite rose from Bisbee stole many hearts, but the piece came home to a Houston collection! My favorite rock at the Currier Auction. Snowflake Cerrusite from Tsumeb. One of the finest and most rare gem crystals in the Currier auction, a sea foam green phosphophylite came home to a Houston collection!
